Description:

You have been chosen to curate a major section of a planned exhibition at the newly constructed New Britain Museum of American Art. In order to ensure that your selections are appropriate to the show's objective of showcasing important pieces in the development of American art, you will give a presentation to the show's benefactors (the class) after your research and compilation is completed. Categories will be selected from the accompanying list. Each presentation must consist of the following:

• A minimum of twelve (12) artworks to be included in the exhibition.
• A description of each piece to include: date, medium, size, artist as well as a short commentary on the work
• A descriptive abstract of the assigned style and period (with a 500 word minimum). This should describe what criteria was used to define this particular movement or style and what influence it had over subsequent artists. This information should be integrated into your class presentation.

This exhibition shall be composed using PowerPoint software and submitted in its final form by the above deadline. All presentations should be saved to the FlinnHonorsArt folder on the student drive of our school server. Class presentations will follow.
